Nappi’s Notes: The sun comes out this weekend and temps soar into the 60s, 70s and make a run for 80. But the real heat arrives Tue and Wed of next week as temps run for 90 and get there with the humidity. There will also be thunderstorms as the cold front advances midweek. Temps cool off by the ned of next week to more typical numbers for May and even a few degrees cooler than what you expect.

The sun comes out today with only a few mountain showers for the most part later on. It will be much warmer with a SW breeze. This map shows the few showers late tonight.

Early tomorrow there will be a few more showers.

On Tuesday the unofficial heat wave begins.

It will be hot again on Wednesday.

Look at the dew points for Tuesday and Wednesday, more typical of July.


The heat index will be in the low 90s for southern Maine.


But that’s not as hot as the Mid Atlantic and southern New England. Every circle is a record high forecast.

Now let’s talk thunderstorms on Tuesday. A few pop-ups in the afternoon.
